Overcoming Adversity & Continuing Strength

By JIFU Success, JIFUlife, Personal Development, Uncategorized No Comments

What drives us here at JIFU? Doing fun and challenging things with amazing people, of course!

The team comes together to tackle the dangerous Brundage Mountain trail on mountain bikes. Lui, Brett, Jeffery, and Doug share their experience on the black diamond trial, and not everything goes to plan. Sometimes even our best laid plans fail, and its important to be flexible. When you fall, stand up, dust yourself off, and get back on the bike.

Through popped tires, gnarly falls, and jagged cliffs, the JIFU team exemplifies overcoming diversity as they make it successfully to the end.  Its important to understand that the road may not be straight and perfectly paved, but, by combining grit and resilience with a growth mindset, you will come out on the other side even better than before.  Your hardest times often lead to your most successful achievements.

JIFUtravel Will Save You Money

By Travel Motivation, Travel Tips No Comments

Don’t think JIFU Travel can save you money on your next vacation? Think again!!

This video introduces us to Savannah and Ashley, two adventurous ladies who love to travel. They share the same passion for exploration, but they have one massive difference….Ashley is a JIFU member. The two went on the exact same vacation, but Ashley saved 40% as compared to Savannah, who thought that JIFU’s deals were too good to be true(big mistake).

Here’s how it works:  when a hotel, rental car, airline or cruise ship has vacancies, they upload them to a database at a huge discount. Then the travel sites, including JIFU, get special access to these highly discounted rates. The big sites mark the prices up for their customers, JIFU doesn’t.

With a JIFU monthly membership, members access that SAME inventory with NO markup. JIFU members score with deals not available to the public. This way, members know they are getting the best deal out there with no surprise markups at the end of the checkout process.

Ashley saved enough money to stay another three days, all thanks to JIFU. Don’t be like Savannah and get started FREE with JIFU today!

1. Kyoto, Japan

Fall in Kyoto, Japan is one of the most beautiful sights one could ever hope to lay their eyes on. The autumn colors are just as beautiful as the far more popular cherry blossoms. Visit Japan during peak fall-time, which lasts from October 15  to December 15. The peak is around November 15.

2. Million Dollar Highway (US Route 550), Colorado

Whether you rent a car or drive your own, this location offers the perfect opportunity for some fall time cruisin’. The highway is situated by the stunning San Juan mountain range. The Million Dollar Highway reportedly cost a million dollars per mile to build, and the breathtaking views are worth every cent.

3. Highlands, Scotland

Autumn in Scotland is vastly underrated. Pack your warm fall clothes and prepare for endless fall photo opportunities. 1/5 of Scotland is covered in trees, many of which are deciduous and display a stunning array of captivating colors. The ideal time to visit the Highlands is early September.

4. Jiuzhai Valley National Park, China

This is a spot that is widely noted for its extraordinary plethora of natural wonders. It is recommended that visitors come in November for gorgeous scenery and a higher chance to enter the park. The park only allows 5,000 visitors each day, so buy your tickets early. JIFU also has special deals on fall tours in Beijing!

This is a fairy-tale castle come to life, only complimented by the bright fall scenery. Neuschwanstein Castle is located in Bavaria, near the town of Fussen. Air Travel Safety

By Travel Motivation, Travel Tips No Comments

You’ve planned your next trip and you’re excited to finally scratch that travel itch, but you’re unsure what the “new normal” at the airport will be. Not to worry! We have gathered some of the most helpful tips that will prove beneficial to any traveler and don’t forget to read our post about pre-travel preparation packing list. Each airport is doing different things to ensure the safety of their passengers, but these universal recommendations will make your flight more relaxing and enjoyable.

Touchless Check-in

Let's start at the beginning: check-in. Most airports and air transportation companies will have touchless options, which can not only reduce your exposure to surface germs, but can make on-boarding even faster than usual. This includes getting an online boarding pass, prepaying baggage fees, and printing your own luggage tags.

Screening Process (American TSA)

Yes, screening is still required, but there are a few changes to be aware of. Every passenger is now permitted to have one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 ounces in a carry-on bag. Another notable change is that personal belongings like keys, phones, and wallets should be placed in your carry-on bag instead of the bin to avoid cross-contamination. TSA agents are also being required to wear face masks and shields, as well as change their gloves after every pat down.

Air Circulation

By now you’ve made it into the plane and you’re ready for the flight, but you may still be concerned about the air quality in the cabin. Nearly all airplanes have filters that take 99.9% of contaminated particles from the air, while bringing in fresh outside air. Take note: it is a myth that airplanes recycle 100% of the air. In fact, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency found that the air in the cabin of the plane is similar or better to the air quality in normal indoor environments.

Limited Cabin Capacity

Airlines are also taking precautions by limiting the capacity of each flight. Most major airlines are operating at 50-60% capacity as compared to other years. To ensure proper social distancing, some airlines are blocking people from sitting in middle seats. This also means that there are less tickets available, so it would be beneficial to buy tickets from our Travel Portal in advance to make sure you snag a seat.

Personal Health Questions

Be prepared to answer some questions about your personal health, before and after your flight. Depending on where you are, where you are going, and what your airline of choice is, you may have to provide some information or temperature screening. Do your research (or stay up to date with this blog) to see the requirements of your destination. Save yourself any surprises by making sure that you have a normal body temperature, and never fly when you are sick.

These are just a few pieces of advice that will help you know what to expect when traveling domestically or internationally. Airlines are doing what they can to make sure that their passengers are safe, whether visiting a exotic location or flying to see loved ones, and JIFU is no different. We want you to live life to its fullest potential, all while adapting to our transforming world.

Living in the Future: E-Markets

By JIFU Success, Travel Motivation No Comments

More than ever, people are becoming aware of what incredible economic value online marketplaces offer, and JIFU is not different. Buying, trading, and selling online has revolutionized the way consumers obtain goods and services. Coming 2021, JIFUshop will offer products from vendors around the globe at value-driven prices, all while rewarding loyalty!

Ease of Access

Online marketplaces have skyrocketed in popularity due, in part, to the ease of access and convenience that they provide. With a few clicks of the mouse or taps of the finger, people can fulfill their wildest wish and have it shipped to their doorstep the next day.

Vendor-specific online stores can not offer a very wide range of products because of the limitations that come with doing business with a single vendor, but online marketplaces aggregate a massive amount of options from different vendors. Consumer transactions are processed by the marketplace, but each order is fulfilled by each wholesaler, which is far more efficient for buyers and sellers.

The Sharing Economy

The immense success of online marketplaces has led to what scholars call the “Sharing Economy.” This is the idea that buyers and sellers can connect to each other by using an online platform.

People are able to buy goods and services directly from the wholesaler. The Sharing Economy fosters an effect called collaborative consumption. Essentially, idle assets (items that are not being traded) can more easily become physical assets (items that have physical value).

Online Marketplaces in 2020

The global pandemic forced millions of people to stay at home and thousands of physical storefronts to close their doors. As a result, consumers took to their computers to order more than just clothes and electronics. People began to rely on the internet to get their groceries and essentials shipped directly to their doorsteps.

These incredible opportunities are being realized and actualized, thanks to a little encouragement from innovation’s biggest initiator: necessity.  JIFU is integrating our own online market, called JIFUshop, into the incredible services we already provide. Stay tuned to this blog and our Instagram for more exciting announcements coming 2021. This is just another example of JIFU boldly looking into the  future and making it a real part of the present!

20 Travel Essentials for 2020

By Travel Motivation, Travel Tips No Comments

While you may not be traveling as much as previous years, the world is starting to open its arms back up to those with a nomadic lifestyle. Even so, the way that we move through the world has irrevocably changed. Here is a list of some of the items that will make your foray into the world as seamless as possible.

1. Sanitizing wipes

This may have been in your traveling arsenal already, but we recommend taking a closer look at the kind of sanitizing wipes you’re using. Because we are using them more frequently than ever, it is best to use ones without parabens, fragrance, and phenoxyethanol (a nasty preservative). A great option that also happens to be easy on the bank is Honest Company’s alcohol wipes. These even contain aloe in case you want to use them on your skin.

2. Mask

Eight months ago, a face mask probably wouldn’t be very high on your list of travel must-haves, but now it’s an essential item. While cloth face masks are more sustainable, disposable ones are preferred for traveling. Most health organizations recommend washing a cloth mask after each use, and that’s not always an option when on a trip. Be sure to grab a mask that fits your face properly; the more personalized your mask the more comfortable it will be!

3. UV Sterilizer

Once you get your (clean) hands on a UV sterilization box, you’ll never go back! This is a piece of technology that kills the germs on all of your everyday use items. Wiping down surfaces work well, but it can get tricky with electronic devices. UV sterilization boxes and devices kill bacteria without damaging your smartphones and tablets. Our pick is the 59S UV Sterilizer Box For Household Equipment. This one is great because it is large enough for more than just your phone and it can still fit easily in your suitcase.

4. Hand Sanitizer

This may seem like a no-brainer, but hand sanitizer is one of the most important things to bring on any trip, abroad or not. With as much sanitizer as we are using these days, it’s important to keep a careful eye on the ingredients to ensure you are not using any products that damage your skin. We recommend using one with moisturizing properties and a smell that won’t make you crinkle your nose. Touchland makes a sleek sanitizer that not only smells great but is dermatologist recommended.

5. Hand and Body Lotion

Even with a hand sanitizer that is dermatologist tested, frequent travelers can suffer from dry hands. To avoid this, we suggest carrying a bottle of hand lotion. An unscented lotion will prevent allergic reactions and keep your hands moisturized and healed. A great option is the Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion because it is non-greasy and comes in a convenient travel size.

6. Water Bottle Purifier

You will discover that many public areas have turned off the water to their drinking fountains and restaurants refuse to fill a water bottle, all in an effort to reduce the spread of germs. You could bring plastic water bottles, but a more efficient option is a filtered reusable bottle. Hydration is key to health, and this way you can have water no matter where your journey takes you. Brita and LifeStraw both make great options, depending on your needs.

7. Electric Thermometer

A frequent traveler should get used to taking their temperature regularly. Though it may seem uncomfortable, an electric thermometer can make the process so easy you’ll become used to it in no time. The average person will usually have a temperature of 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C). It is very handy to carry your own thermometer because many places require a temp check before entry. iHealth makes a very nifty non-contact infrared option, so you can test your traveling partners without worry!

8. Information

It’s important to become familiar with the regulations of the area you are planning on visiting. Every country, state, and city can have different rules, and planning ahead can prepare you for what to expect. The local government usually has a breakdown of the information visitors will need on their websites.

9. Snacks

Even though businesses are tentatively opening up, it is a good idea to bring more snacks than usual on your trip. Many airports and cities do not have food as easily available as they once did. Bringing your own food will ensure that you won’t have to rely on corner shops that may or may not be open.

10. Your own pen

Trust us, bringing your own pen along with you will come in handy more often than you might think. You can pick your favorite one, the one that glides deliciously across the page, and save yourself from using a pen that thousands of other people may have used. The Fisher Space pen is an investment we recommend because you can use it in extreme temperatures and it is also airplane safe, meaning it won’t leak ink when the pressure changes.

11. Reusable Silicone Bags

Throwing in a few reusable snack bags to your carry on can be a total game changer. While being sustainable, you can pack your snacks in these bags without worrying about saving old, gross plastic bags. The best part is that you are able to safely microwave the bags in your hotel room if you decide to bring a snack best served warm. They are made from silicone, making them very easy to clean.

12. Face cleansing wipes

It is no secret that traveling can be hard on your skin, so it is important to keep a face cleansing wipe on hand, especially now that you will be wearing a mask. If you have been racing to catch a plane or sweating in the beautiful sun of your destination, face wipes are an easy way to make sure that the bacteria stuck under your mask doesn’t turn into acne. We love the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths because they are kind to your skin, while still being able to cleanse the skin under a beard.

13. Antibacterial lip balm

Even though you will be using your filtered water bottle to stay hydrated, chapped lips are sometimes inevitable when traveling. Be sure to stock up on a lip balm that not only protects your lips from cracking, but also protects you from germs. There are products on the market that are formulated with germ-fighting ingredients that are gentle on your lips.

14. Vitamins

Even though you may already integrate vitamins into your daily regimen, it can be easy to forget to bring them on a trip. Boring as it may seem, vitamins can help a travel weary body ward off illness.

15. Emergen-c

To be more specific, Vitamin C is a well known antioxidant that assists your body in healing. Bringing along a powder version that can be mixed into water is an easy way to boost your immune system. The orange flavored Emergen-C is a classic, but the company makes several other options, including acai berry and cranberry-pomegranate.

16. Food delivery app

Food delivery apps for smartphones are a great way to get yummy food delivered straight to your location. Even if the restaurants themselves do not deliver, oftentimes food delivery apps will! It can also be a great way to look at the dining options in an unfamiliar area. A few examples of the apps include DoorDash and GrubHub.

17. Electronic Maps

Whether you have an Apple iPhone or an Android, downloading a separate app for your travels can be beneficial. Do your research and find a map that best suits your needs. If you plan on visiting a large city, download Citymapper to easily find public transportation. If you plan on hiking, running, and cycling, download AllTrails to look for the best trails in your area. There are hundreds of other apps that are tailored to your needs.

18. Portable Chargers

Portable chargers are a necessity when it comes to any trip. Any seasoned traveler will know how much easier they make keeping your devices at 100%. It is also a much more sanitary option than using a wall charger that hundreds of hands have touched. MyCharge makes a powerful charger that is sleek enough to slide into any carry on.

19. Gloves

Disposable gloves can help you stay safe from germs in public places. It’s another added layer of protection, but wearers should be sure to dispose of the gloves right away. It is also important to make sure not to touch your face while wearing the gloves. Regular latex gloves are not recyclable and can be wasteful, but luckily Vegware makes compostable food prep gloves. These gloves are also made from a plant-based material!

20. Disinfectant Spray

Yes, we know we included a lot of sanitizing options in this list, but that’s part of traveling in 2020! Disinfectant spray is a great option for sanitizing without touching the object. On a road trip? Spray down the gas pump handle before refueling, and head safely down the road to your next incredible destination. Flying to a gorgeous location? Spray down the airplane seat and settle in for a relaxing flight.

My Beach Must Have’s!

By Travel Tips 84 Comments

Sunny Days are Here to Stay! Being from Southern California I have spent countless hours at the beach, and I have some awesome tips for your next summer getaway. So let me give you my beach must-haves!

The sun can be draining and that’s why you gotta make sure you stay nourished! First things first, nothing tastes better than fruit at the beach! Fresh strawberries, kiwi, and some pineapple pieces? YUM. There is just something so refreshing about it! I love to make little fruit kabobs and stick them in my cooler, so easy and you’re less likely to get sand all over them! You can mix whatever fruits you like! I get a ton of my favorite recipes from the Food Network.

Swimming, playing games, surfing, and just laying in the sun really makes you thirsty! Obviously water is the best choice to keep you hydrated but sometimes you just wanna mix it up. Easy and delicious ( here’s a good recipe) all you gotta do is cut up some strawberries, lime pieces, and some basil! Add it all together and mix it up with ice! Add in carbonated water if you wanna get that crisp taste! This is so refreshing and yummy as well!

We got snacks and drinks covered so let’s get into the games! Now I love to play a little sand volleyball but if I’m bringing a game, I’m definitely bringing  Spikeball ! Fast-paced, fun, and competitive, this game is always a crowd pleaser! All you need is 4 players and you got yourself a fun game to play all afternoon!

I absolutely love the feeling of laying out in the sun after swimming, now to do that you gotta make sure your towels up to par! My personal favorite is those big fluffy ones that look like there for two people, that way you keep the sand off you while you dry! Go to Amazon and look up oversized beach towels and you can have your pick! Any color works, but it’s summertime! Let’s get colorful, pick a fun pattern or a bright yellow or red!

Now if you love to tan let me put you on my favorite tanning sprays! I’ll give you my top two tanning sprays one with no SPF and one with some!

The Hawaiian Tropic Dark tanning oil is cheap and totally delicious smelling! This stuff really works so be careful with how long you layout and how much you use. Be responsible with your skin and I recommend wearing sunscreen with this stuff! Now a close second with the benefit of SPF is  Sunbum Tanning oil, this one is moisturizing and smells like coconuts with SPF 15!

Summertime and feelin’ fine! Go out and catch some rays at the beach! Always remember to leave footprints of kindness wherever you go!
